Tim Folta (Purdue University) est professeur invité au BETA/FSEG

Il sera présent au BETA du 26 mars au 4 avril 2012. Le contact au BETA est Patrick Llerena

Timothy B. Folta is the Brock Family Chair of Strategic Management at Purdue University. His research and teaching efforts examine both entrepreneurship and the strategic management of interactions across functional and product boundaries within a firm. His work analyzes, first, how uncertainty constrains behavior, and second, how managers and entrepreneurs use organizational design and scope decisions to cope with uncertainty. His scholarly work has appeared in journals such as Administrative Science Quarterly, Industrial and Corporate Change, Journal of Business Venturing, Management Science, and Strategic Management Journal.

Tim is currently investigating how certain firm resources enable flexibility for redeployment to alternative markets, and the implications on value and firm scope. This work uses a combination of numerical simulation and large-scale statical studies.

Professor Folta is Founding Director of BIOMEDSHIP, which stands for "biomedical entrepreneurship", a partnership with Purdue’s Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering and Indiana University’s School of Medicine. He is also offering a new graduate course in Life Science Entrepreneurship in Fall 2011 targeting students in agriculture, management, science, engineering, health and human sciences, pharmacy, and veterinary medicine. He regularly teaches the core strategy course to executives and Ph.D. courses at Krannert and other places around the world, including a regular appointment at LUISS in Rome.
